Apostilles

Immigration Assist offers a range of services for the authentication and legalisation of documents.

Legalisation, Authentication, and Apostille (Hague) of Documents

Apostille and Legalisation Services

We provide notary services for documents requiring authentication, such as university degrees, passports, and other records that cannot physically have an authentication certificate attached. Notarised copies are authenticated at the High Court before submission to the relevant embassy or consulate.

For Apostille Hague member states, we obtain an Apostille certificate that verifies the authenticity of a document. For non-Apostille Hague member states, such as the UAE and Qatar, we also handle the full legalisation process at the respective embassies.

Our Services Include:

✅ Emergency Apostilles processed within one week
✅ Document authentication for any country
✅ Certified document translation (if required)

Where Can Documents Be Authenticated?

Most documents can be authenticated at the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO). DIRCO maintains a database of government officials’ designation numbers and signatures. An Apostille issued by DIRCO confirms that the document has been signed by a recognised authority and is therefore valid.

Specific Document Requirements:

  • Matric certificates, degrees, and diplomas must be verified by the Department of Education before authentication at DIRCO.
  • Medical certificates must be verified by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) before submission to DIRCO.

📌 Important Note: The Apostille is physically attached to the document with a ribbon and sealed with DIRCO’s official wax stamp. If you require multiple copies for different uses, we recommend ordering additional certified copies.
