ARD UK Citizenship applications
There is a claim now for people born in an independent country before 1983 to Fathers whose Mother’s were born in the UK.
You would have needed to be born in South Africa between 01.06.1961 and 1983.
This application retrospectively corrects the Gender inequality Laws of the time which prevented your Gran from passing on Citizenship to your Father automatically and then onto you before 1983 when this was still possible through double descent.
The application can take 6 to 12 months and costs 1486 Pounds
The 1486 Pounds is paid via credit card. You will need to complete a form with your details which will accompany your application.
You will need the following documents:
Your vault birth certificate
Your unabridged marriage certificate (should your name have changed through marriage)
Your Father’s full birth certificate
Your Grandmother’s full UK Birth certificate
Your Grandparents full Marriage certificate
Immigration Assist, will ensure both that you have all the correct documents, have completed the forms correctly, citing the correct Laws under which the ARD application is based.
